March 1, 2008: New and Improved Referee Courses

Newly revised referee course teaching plans are now available for download below. These new and improved referee course plans simplify the job of instructors to deliver referee training by providing independent, stand-alone teaching plans for the U-8 Official, Assistant Referee, Basic Referee, Intermediate Referee, and Advanced Referee Courses. In addition, two new upgrade courses have been created which offer easy upgrade paths for U-8 Officials to become Assistant Referees and for Assistant Referees to become Regional Referees.

Finally, the referee instructor courses have been updated to reflect the new course plans. Click here to view the instructor course teaching plans.

The release of these course plans represents the first stage of a two-stage project targeted for completion later in 2008. The second stage will add new supporting materials such as handouts, for each of the course plans. Some materials are included with the course plans now, but a more comprehensive collection is under development.

These revised files for each course (except Safe Haven) can be downloaded as a single .zip file (left side) or as stand alone files (right side).
